When you sign a contract for a 10MB line and there is only a max of 4MB at my Telkom exchange as stated by the technicians the rip-off starts. My ADSL line which is supposed to be more secure than wifi is offline from 16:30 on Fridays to Monday mornings at about 8:00. The solution is to phone 10210. What a joke when I have to spend 2 hours resetting my modem etc and the problem still is not resolved... even after begging whomever 'helps' you. A report is set sent to Telkom and week by week like clockwork the line goes down. Growing a booming vegetable business in the Sahara desert is easier than getting this problem sorted. Don't bother going to a Telkom Direct store as they tell you to contact 10210. My two businesses I run from home is suffering. I have lost revenue, broken promises and generally given bad service to my customers due to this incredibly poor non-ADSL service delivered by Telkom. Telkom has a wireless modem that supports downtime on ADSL lines which keeps you connected if the line fails... Guess what!? It's an additional contract! What can be done about this?
