Our home ADSL has been giving problems for approximately two months now. The problem is intermittent and we lose ADSL connectivity for periods at regular intervals regardless of the time of day. Even when the line is up, we have regular packet loss often up to 10% This basically renders the product unusable.
We have logged many faults for this problem and Telkom has closed them without confirming whether the problem has actually been restored. Two technicians have visited the premises and have confirmed the problem is not our router (we have two anyway) and the NFS system reported that the line fails.
The last technician said that new cabling would need to be put in but then the fault was closed and he never came back.
Telkom needs to fix this problem, replacing whatever cables are necessary and credit our account for two months worth of DSL line rental and Internet Access.
