I purchased a SMS Bundle for my daughter who is currently overseas (she is currently using international sms roaming). I purchased the bundle from my internet banking. When she attempted to activate it she received an error stating she was not able to activate it. 2 weeks later she received a sms from mtn stating the sms bundle would expire a month later. I walked into a branch and had to wait for the person at the counter to try and get through to the call centre, which took over 10 minutes, When he eventually got through he asked the person if I could extend the limit of the sms bundle until my daughter got home, or convert it to airtime. or refund me to my account, as I am on contract with mtn and have been since 1998. I was told I could not as it is stated in the terms and conditions. I then looked through the terms and conditions and could not find anything that stated if a mobile is on international roaming, a sms bundle cannot be used. I then tried calling the call centre directly, this also took over 10 mins to get hold of someone. I explained the situation and the call taker was unaware of these conditions and spoke to the supervisor who also said no.
