I ported my number from Vodacom to MTN as at the end of December.
At end of January - I get a bill for January - which I queried. The feedback from the social media team was that:
The number was cancelled at the December and my account was loaded onto some temp number. The supposed airtime I received was also put onto this temporary number. I got charged for this airtime.
I was already ported to MTN as of beginning of Jan - so how was I to get the supposed airtime?
My Vodacom number was cancelled as at 31 December.
So after much back and forth - the social media guy Theo - concluded that I the amount should be reversed. He then advised that since the account has been closed, they cannot credit me so I have to reverse the payment at the bank. I duly did so.
6 months later I'm getting a letter of demand for more than my subscription was and threatened to be handed over to ITC for non payment.
This is ridiculous. Vodacom has a great network - but their support structure is terrible. I need this fixed immediately!!!
Twitter gets a lovely response from the social media guys but it just seems like they are there to appease you and not really fix the issue.
