Cell C
Bank

Internet banking and cheque are on the increase in South Africa, as reported in newspapers, magazines, the internet, etc. A would be criminal need only call Cell C to arrange for a swim swop (prepaid customers) to gain control of your mobile number. I have been emailing customer care since 24 Oct 2012. I received an email from their division on 27 Nov where they stated that they would assist in resolving my query with the utmost urgency. I have heard nothing from them since! I would like to know what security measures they intend putting in place to prevent this from occuring (eg. the customer should have to personally request a sim swop at a Cell C branch with a copy of their ID). I have sent subsquent messages to Cell C but have been ignored. I am unable to ascertain the contact detials of Cell C's management. As such, I am changing my service provider and would recommend that other people do likewise to protect their bank accounts. Cell C obviously do not care and couldn't be bothered to reply or protect their customers. I received a reply to my query from the director of Division at my Bank within 24 hours
