I tried to send a fax through the FaxFX service on 11 April. I got notices that it failed temporarily and then failed all together. This all cost me R30.78. The next day I tried to send the same fax again. (I had checked the number and it was correct.) Same thing happened and I was charged R30.78 again.
The attachment to be faxed was 950kb large, so not too large for the system to handle. A portion of the fax had actually gone through on the first day, but the FaxFX system was not able to let me know of this. They just said the fax failed.
I lodged a complaint, but support just said that if it is a bad line, it is not their problem if a fax cannot go through.
How can anyone trust a service that might charge you all your prepaid credit for failed faxes?
