MTN sold me a 3G contract under the premise that I had 100% coverage in my area, after a few days of trying I returned their 3G toggle and told them to cancel the contract as I had no coverage in my area.
They then informed me that there would be cancellation fee's. I politely pointed out to them that under CPA goods that were sold under a certain premise may be returned if they don't perform the required function.
The agent then said she'd come back to me. "Surprisingly" I never heard back from her. Instead I have been billed for the 3G for the last two months, even though I have "cancelled" the contract and returned their toggle.
But the best part is, 2 weeks ago I received a call from a warehouse saying that my 3G return had been rejected because I didn't return the box it came in. I was gob smacked at this and asked if they would like me to dig through a few dustbins to find a box for them. She then ended the call.
I have escalated to and emailed MTN for the better part of two months now and no one has bothered to reply to me. It truely is unbelievable that a customers experience means so little to MTN. I just want this mess sorted out so that I can go to Voda.
