Planet Fitness Not Cancelling my Membership

Sept 2012 i signed a gym membership 21st Sept to be exact. 4days later i wrote a letter and submitted it to the gym sales consultant and receptionist to request cancellation of the membership (i had not even started to use the facility). I was promised it will be cancelled as i was within the cooling off period. Jan 2013 one of my debit orders was returned due to insufficient funds and i later found out that Planet fitness debited my account this was 3months after i had requested cancellation. Why was it not cancelled was the question. When i spoke to the club receptionist she said the letter i submitted was misplace - i had a copy and believed this was malicious that the letter of cancellation i gave was suddenly missing and they waited 3months to debit my account. Since January and continues attempts to have this account closed, my bank account is being debited by Planet fitness with two amounts R489 and R539 which i have to keep reversing and in most time interupts my personal legitimate debit orders costing me charges from the bank. The Club Manager is never available, i've been calling every month since Jan, emailing every month and need The account closed and bank charges paid
