I have been receiving numerous calls from Planet Fitness's debt collectors. I had forgotten all about them ages ago as my contract had expired. I had spoken to them right before the contract was due to expire and they told me that I do not need to worry because it was about to expire and then I would have no more charges. So all good and well and I haven't heard from them for about 2 years. Now i'm getting calls saying that I owe them approx R1700??? The reason being that I didn't "cancel in writing". Then the guy proceeds to say that he will give me a 50% discount if I pay now??? If this really was the case then why wasn't I contacted last year? And why would they offer me a discount? I don't even have a copy of my contract anymore? PLANET FITNESS ARE RUTHLESS AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THEM TO ANYONE!
