I joined a gym on the 22 October 2013, i went there a few days later to cancel it as i've realised i can't afford it as I'm currently in a leanership and my contract ends in July 2014. i was told i should have come to the gym to cancel within 5 days. unless i find someone to come to the gym on my behalf/ replace me and pay for the gym. i could find anyone so i couldn't't make the payment. i received a letter from the gym informing me that i owe them money which i know about but they refused to cancel the gym membership. when we call the gym we always transfared to this lady called Fikile Motaung and she is mostly not answering the phone or goes straight to voicemail. when we gave her a call and finally answered she told colleague whom i regard as a sister that we Will make arrangements on how Will i pay for the 3 months i owe but now she said to me i still wont cancelled the gym as i have to find someone to replace me. the amount i owe is R695 and asked if i could pay in instalments but she refused. even if i pay it all ill still owe the gym money and I'm going to be blacklisted. she says i have to pay a cancellation fee but in my membership agreement it does not state such. please
