I took out a Gym Membership with Just Fitness earlier this year, it was a 6 month contract which i was told would end in August 2013. In October i was debited for the membership so i went to the branch in Weltevreden Park and spoke to the person in charge, he advised that they require a letter of cancellation before they can end the membership and that should be emailed to them. He gave me the email address and on the 8th October 2013 i sent my letter of cancellation through. i was aware of the 30 day notice and paid that in November. This month a debit went off and when i called them to find out what is going on, they said that they did not receive my cancellation and that the lady whom i sent it to was on maternity leave, then they checked her emails and said there was no email from me so i resent the email i initially sent to them again and they tell me now that they cannot assist with a refund as the email address i sent it to is incorrect! how the is that my fault? their staff gave me the wrong information and now suddenly i have to pay for their mistakes? this is unacceptable!!!
