I have a complaint and enquiry regarding Planet Fitness MegaClub- Bedfordview - today on the 10/10/2013 I received an sms notification regarding my ABSA account which stated, that a debit order from PLANETFS/(ref no) attempted to debit R250.00 from my account, now this is ridiculous as I had TERMINATED my 36 month (R59 per month) Planet Fitness contract back in late September 2009 with a consultant by the name of Freddy when I fell pregnant with my now almost 4year old (on the 16th April 2014) due to complications which did not permit me to continue with gym as it became a complete hazard to my baby's health and i gave in that Dr certificate and was informed that my contract was cancelled! Now i'm in arrears? I expect a response from Yugan Reddy financial manager from head office ASAP.
There is a Prescription Act 68 of 1969 which states: " The period of prescription of any debt not listed in Section 11 (d) shall be three years and thereafter not applicable. I suggest Planet Fitness get their boxing gloves out because i am ready to fight for my consumer rights, and i will be contacting the Consumer Council with regard to this, if my name is not cleared.
