Unfairly treated

I had an account with Woolworths, according to me I closed the account in 2004. All the Money that was owed was paid in 2004 and at that time i closed the account. But im still receiving letters from MBD Legal collection stating that i owe R16, 923.40 my account no quoted on the letter is 6007850116592005.When I first received these letters in 2005 I went to the South Gate branch for inquiries, all the slips were produced but the ink was warned off and they could not see as they were very old. I am very surprised that ten years later Im am still receiving Final demands as i no longer have these slips and according to me, this debt is stale
