I visit Checkers on almost a daily basis. Mainly because there are various stores conveniently close to where I stay. My HUGE frustration is that I complain at least twice a week about not receiving my 5c change. Yes yes, it is only 5c, but multiply that by the number of customers who daily does not get their 5c. I have made a point of complaining, because I think that Checkers can keep the 5c rounding, BUT then donate to a charity like CANSA or a children's home on a monthly basis. What irritates me is the promises from managers that they take note and "We promise that it will never happen again." All managers say that cashiers have been instructed to give customers 10c if they don't have 5c change. This does not happen although I keep on complaining about it! I will keep complaining until Checkers can give me a GUARANTEE that this practice of from customers will stop, or Checkers SA accept my challenge to donate on a monthly basis an amount to a charity organisation. I am saying again, it is not about the 25c that I might loose on a weekly basis, but the sum total that is taken from customers in at least Johannesburg where I continuously complain.
