I bought a Jamis Xenith Endura Comp 2012 from Sports Basement, on special - or at least I though I did.
Subsequently when I looked on the website of Jamis Bikes, the specs were supposed to be better (better components, at least).
Sports Basement run a Facebook page, so I posed the question there to Rory, the owner/manager of Sports Basement: was there some mistake - or was someone lying?
The next apparent followed with Rory's claim that no one had ever claimed that the bike was a 2012 model. Certainly the salesman denied having said so - unsurprisingly.
Unfortunately for Rory I have an email from him describing the bike as the 2012 model. So, blocked on this front, Rory changed strategy: I was sold an Endura Sport, not an Endura Comp - and (again) no one had ever claimed to be selling an Endura Comp.
Except, on their website, under the picture of the bike I was sold, the bike is described as the "Xenith Endura Comp" - or at least it was until I pointed this out to Rory. Overnight the description changed. Unfortunately for Rory, I took a screen capture of the page before he managed to erase the evidence
