PACKARD BELL LAPTOP

On the 7th of December I purchased a Laptop from the above-mentioned store and was told by the assistant who assisted me that the laptop had a one year guarantee and though she couldn't quite remember what the gaurantee entailed I was assured that any defects will be dealt with.
I subsequently gave this laptop to my son in January only to find that the was an ink like mark on the screen - upon my brother taking the laptop back to the shop he was assured that it will be taken back to the manufacturer - after two weeks without any correspondence from the shop when my brother went to check how far the repairs were, he was told by the branch manager that the Packard Bell Technicians quoted the laptop at R1100.00- HOWEVER WHAT i FIND STRANGE IS THE FACT THAT THE LAPTOP IS STILL IN THE STORE - how then did they come to the conclusion that it would cost that much when they hadn't EVEN SEEN IT??? Am i being??? I have called the CNA complaints line to no AVAIL MY REF for the complaint from them is 0603130292/GO & have spoken to Nasreen on 06/03/13 (who was helpful & patient) & Noxolo on 14/03/13 (who was abrupt & extremely unhelpful). Could someone PLEASE give me ASSISTANCE :-(
