In Dec 2012, I wanted to settle my Edgars account, but, to keep a positive credit record, I decided to keep a balance of R200. I gave clear instructions - my credit limit MUST BE R200. In the interrim, my wife used my card, and there is now a balance of R6000, which is what I wanted to avoid.
With CPA, TCF, and all the other regulatory frameworks, surely there must be recourse against a financial services provider who recklessly increases a credit limit by 3000% when they feel like it, without notification!!!
