I have been shopping at Pnp Claremont for the last 2 years, during which time I regularly buy fruit and veg. However, my experience of their fruit, esp their bananas, has been absolutely dismal. I complained to one of the senior managers about it, but nothing was done to resolve the problem. If their banana's are not already bruised and in a terrible state when you get to the shelf, then they are all green, or you buy them almost green and two days later they are going off. My fuse blew a few days ago, when a bought a few banana's which looked perfectly fine on the outside (ie. no visible bruising). I took them home, and once peeled, discovered they not only had huge bruises on them, but they were also bruised in the middle throughout the entire banana. Needless to say I will never buy bananas from Pnp Claremont again. I have never had a problem at any of the other Pnps. The biggest reason for all of these bad bananas? Bad storage. I have regularly found their banana's cold on the shelf, and can only guess that they buy in bulk and then freeze them. Completely ineffective for a store with such high turnover, and I can only imagine the waste, never mind the dissatisfied customers.
