I took up an account at Morkels Randburg, in January 2012, when I was buying my sofas which was a 6 months agreement. The agreement stipulated 6 payments of R2090 excluding the initial deposit of R2500 starting from February 2012. I missed only one payment in July but finished paying in August 2012.

Even after finishing the payments I was told I was still owing. The system showed that I had I cleared up when I consulted with the headquarters, being assisted by Banothile, but the problem was caused by the fact that Morkels where migrating their financial systems and my account was not migrated yet as I was told by Banothile and that it will be rectified.

Now 8 months later, I am receiving rude calls from their debt collectors (JJHarmse) who are saying that I am owing close to R2997.00. When I refuted the amount and getting a rude call from one of their agents Tabangu and speaking to the manager Melissa she tells me I am owing R554.00, which I still refute.

This is a big inconvenience and is tarnishing my credit record. Anyone that is thinking of getting an account from Morkels should think twice before they get one. I don't think I will patronise their business again.
