Last week in response to an advert on Friday for toilet paper at a good price, I went into Checkers Balfour Park late last Saturday afternoon. The shelf marked with the special offer was empty. I then went back again in response to an advert and the toilet paper in question had been increased by R20-00 a pack to it's normal price. I waited to speak to the Store Manager, Jacques Chapman. He rudely told me that they did have stock of the said product when I went to buy last Saturday. I am not crazy or stupid, but the shelf was completely empty and that is why I went back at a later date. Besides not having the product, I mostly object to the rude and very angry manner in which Jacques Chapman and his very grumpy and unpleasant Assistant Store Manager treated and spoke to me. Jacques was absolutely insulting and very angry and he and his assistant walked off and Jacques was loudly insulting about me. Does Jacques not know that if the store has no customers, he will not have a job. Does he not realise that the customer is king? At Pick n Pay, I have only been treated with courtesy and respect. Never will I ever shop at Checkers again.
