Save hyper at the truro plaza in pietermaritzburg, south Africa, a retail store that also has a deli in there. there was ample occasions that i have been there when i have noticed flies in the doughnuts that were not covered properly. more over yesterday the 17/02/2013 i went in i purchased goods including two pies, a chicken and mushroom and a peppered steak. on opening the pies there was a bad smell. when i broke the pie it was noticed that it was slimy. when i brought it to the mangers attention all he could say was that he was sorry.
again i spoke to him about the flies and he said it was because of the dump that is situated behind the shop. however they have not done anything to prevent flies entering the food. plus to add to the frustration they have very incompetent staff that are very rude and have no sense of customer service.
for a store that holds such a high status their reputation on hygiene is now questionable
