I have TopTV and I pay my account at Checkers every month when I go food shopping. I find it convenient and hassle free. When I pay my TopTV, I need to give my account number and my cellphone number. It's understandable I guess. Now, a company by the name of Berta Life keeps on calling me. My phone only rings twice then it stops. So I phoned back only to discover than Berta Life is part of the Checkers and Shoprite Group. I haven't given consent to this. I tried to call back to make them delete my details of their system. I am not interested in your pathetic life and insurance offers. I'm going to start shopping and Pick n Pay from now on.
I am with Sanlam and Santam. I am going to bring this under Consumer Protection Act.
