I visited Shoprite in Bellville yesterday over lunch time. Purchased a few items and stood in the 10 or less items isle. Paid in cash. My change was R37.30.
The till operator gives me R20 and R10 and start gathering 20 and 50c as change. Really, do you really think i want R7.30 in 20c or 50c.
She looks around (no idea for what but looks confused). She does not call a supervisor to confirm she does not have change in her till, instead she keeps on counting.
I tell her: I dont want 14 50c coins, pls get someone to bring you change. She looks confused and looks around. It came to a point where i told her to just leave the R7.30. she just says sorry mam. My response: you need to be more organised. Her reply: Yes mam. I can guarantee you when it was time to cash up, she took that R7.00 for herself. I dont know if she is new there but why were there no sups around to assist and how can you not have change in your till. So for the rest of the day she is going to hand out 20c and 50c coins as change until she gets other coins from customers? Pathetic i tell you
