As an avid purchaser of Heinz Baked Beans (a staple diet in my childhood days growing up in the UK during the 50's and early 60's) I have not been able to find this product on the supermarket shelves for the last few weeks. My wife has visited several supermarkets, Checkers, Pick and Pay and Spar in the Springs, Benoni and Boksburg areas of Gauteng without success. My secretary phoned Heinz (the number listed did not work she eventually found an 0800 number and got a reply). the "lady" at Heinz was not very customer orientated and replied "there is no problem with the supply of beans if you want them you must ask your supermarket manager to place an order". I am sorry but this is NOT the treatment one would expect from a global international company such as Heinz. Obviously there must be some problem at Heinz as it is not one supermarket that has no stock but several branches and several different companies. In addition to the beans we have also notices a shortage and empty shelves where the tins of chunky soup should be! It would be nice get a civil explanation and some ideas when their products will be back on the shelf. Regards Bob Stone Sales & Marketing Director Zimalco
