I would like to report a terrible experience I had at Pick n Pay in Verulam on 3 February 2014. I was with my mum and kids in the shop and my son was nagging. As any parent knows, this is always a difficult situation and I told him to stop it. There was another male customer in the aisle and I told my son like many parents do that the uncle would get angry with him if he did not stop nagging. This man then strangely got hostile towards me and told me in a harsh tone to 'Stop It! ' I thought he was joking but he began to raise his voice. My mum then came over from the other aisle and asked what was going on. We then appologised to him. The vulgar individual then swore at my mum and told her to voetsak! I looked for the guard and told him what had happened but he refused to help. We then went to the manager and explained to him what had happened, his response was that there was nothing they could do, 'the person had to have assaulted someone before they could do anything about it'. The man was then allowed to leave the shop as if nothing happened. I for one will never shop at Pick n Pay Verulam again as they are not serious about customer service and protection of women in their store
