I purchased a microwavable pop corn maker for R149 from Verimark- well Pick n Pay. I had this unit for about 10 months but only used it now and again to make popcorn. I started using it allot more from November 2013.
I put pop corn into the machine and popped it into my microwave, I put the microwave on for about 3 minutes. I left the popcorn popping and basically walked into my other room, I could smell something burning and when I returned to the kitchen and opened the microwave the whole bowl had melted!!!
My microwave still has a burned smell! well I took photos of the maker and emailed it to the customer services department! I did however throw the unit away because of the smell!
I was told by the department that they are unable to assist me because I threw the unit away! and basically said to me that I should of only left the unit in the microwave for 2 1/2 minutes and mine was about 3 to 4 minutes bearing in mind some microwaves are not all the same and my microwave is slightly older! I said to them with all due respect you cannot advertise that something is microwave safe and it melts in the microwave! I had no help!!! beware buying this unit!
