Late feedback and no explanation

I ordered a book from them (10 Dec 2013) as a Christmas present and was told that delivery will be on the 23rd Dec 2013. Then received an email on the 24th Dec 2013 telling me that my order was placed on a back order and would only be delivered end of Feb 2014.

When I got back to work I sent them an email asking for an explanation as to why it took them so long to tell me that my order was on a back order (email sent 27th Dec 2013) and have still not had any reply.

Think it is shocking service that firstly they only tell me my order is on back order the day after the scheduled delivery date and then when I query them for an explanation I get no response at all.
