When an item is priced at - say R9.99 - the cashiers do not give the 1cent back. When asked, they say the ONE CENT COIN IS NO LONGER IN OPERATION. When challanged further, they do give back the cent. My point is that an accumulation of the one cent from each buyer accumulated over a month can add a decent amount to the profit line for THE SPAR.
