During the Black Friday only special I wanted to buy a printer/scanner that was on special. I added it to my basket and proceeded to check out. First I had to register, but then did the payment. My payment was declined when I used my new credit card, but I then wanted to use my old one. I then could not proceed with the checkout because my basket was empty and the item was out of stock.
I would have though the item is reserved once you place it in your basket, even just for a while.
I did send a complaint to the HiFi Corp. complaints department using their website, but the "friendly staff member" has not contacted me "shortly" as the automated email said.
I do not support HiFi Corp. brick and mortar stores due to the bad customer service, high prices and them not honoring "price beating" promises. After this I will also not support the HiFi Corp. online shop.
I will obviously advice other service and price conscience consumers to do the same.
