My daughter received a watch as a gift from Edgars. Because she had received so many watches she wanted exchange the gift for a gift voucher. I was told by Queen that the product was good enough to exchange for another watch, yet they could not provide me with a gift voucher. When I asked why this is what I was told. The person that purchased the gift needed to declare it at the counter as a gift only then they could provide me with a gift voucher. I was also told to call the family up and request a receipt of purchase and that would be my other option for a gift voucher. Queen then explained the entire internal process of purchasing gifts to me the client. I then stopped to ask when we do purchase items why don't the teller ask us to declare gifts and why is there no signs anywhere in the store of this process for the client. She was silent.
This was not a cheap watch and it is really sad that my child cannot get a gift card to utilise for something she really needs. The watch still has it barcode and tag on it, in its box.
I shop at Alberton Branch often and their service is always so poor. The manager is never available to escalate.
