Today I went to pick 'n Pay Norwood Hypermarket. Upon checking my bill I noticed that the Papayas had been charged 20 rands when on the shelve it displayed a price of 19, 99 Rands. Then the bottle of cold drink was charged 8 rands when on the shelve it displayed 7, 99 Rands.
Hence the price were wrong
When I reported it the staff laughed it off considering the complain was about a cent or two. when I advised a manager on the floor he pushed me off.
Then they brought to my attention the gift by Mr Akerman to keep its staff in check ie scan write where upon if the price at the till was not the correct price you would get your product for free 10% had been discontinued.
Now 1 or 2 cents does not sound a lot but over a turn over of Pick 'n Pay the discrepancy amounts to millions per day
This is money from its customers and is considered a crime. This must be reported to the consumer board.
Never have I seen a shop rounding off a price to the detriment of his customers
Pick 'n Pay is considered a blue chip company. It is listed and definitly should not be allowed to a cent from any one specially on such a scale!
