Saturday morning I purchased two packets of 10 AA Varta batteries. The price on the display was R26.99.
When I got home I checked the slip, cause the total was quite high, when I noticed the batteries were charged at R59.99 not the displayed R26.99.
I took the two packets and the purchase slip to the customer care counter. A gentlemen, think it was Ed, went with me to the display and agreed that the goods had been priced incorrectly. The manager, Kon, refused to give me the goods at the displayed price. He said it was human error. I was horrified. It is not that I cannot afford to buy the batteries at the full price, but they were displayed incorrectly. it is the principle. This has happened to me at Game, Spar, Checkers and Woolies and they have always given me the product at the displayed price. Pick n Pay Sea Point is a horrible store with horrible smells and an equally horrible Manager... that is not good service sir. I could see that the staff around us were embarrassed by his decision. I actually feel sorry for the staff that have to work with Kon. If that is how he speaks to customers, how does he speak to his staff!!!
