I am so fed up with this, yet refuse to remain silent about retailers their clients. I have run out of fingers and toes keeping count of the number of times pricing was incorrect at a checkers or checker liquor store. About 2 weeks ago Checkers Liquor had a special of 6 Heineken and 6 WIndhoek for one price. When it was scanned at the till it came to R2 more. Now, I know R2 is not much, but in principle they are R2 from every client buying that deal, in every store in the country. R2 from a million deals amount to R2m which they obtained through illegal practise. Further more, yesterday they advertised a special on Castle Draught 330ml at R149 per case. Only problem is Draught only comes in 440ml. Upon scanning a case at the till it came to R204. This in my opinion is deliberately misleading advertising. They are in effect advertising something that does not exist, tricking people into buying something supposedly on special, but charging them more for it than they would initially have agreed to pay for it. WHat is wrong with this picture. A large company small amounts of money from millions of people. It is extorsion and corruption.
