I popped into Foschini in Bedford Centre with a friend, and whilst I was there spotted the perfect pair of shoes that would match my dress for my daughters wedding. (you know how sensitive Mothers of the bride can be). So i zoned in on the shoes and excitedly looked around for a staff member to assist me in finding out if they have a size 3 in stock.
I walked around near the shoe department and found... no-one. However, my friend heard a voice in the backoffice of the shoe department and she started calling hello hello hello, but nothing... an employee then approached us to enter the same office and we stopped and asked for help.
In her own language (which i understand), she then raised her voice and called to two "chatters" (who had already been chatting for ages, and in true fashion told them exactly this - "move your and come and assist". This elicited a lot of screaming across the store. The employees in the clothing section started raising their voices and shouting back at the "supervisor" who had already disappeared into the back office again.
End result. I shouted to them not to bother themselves and we walked - no serivice - no shoes - no customers
