My wife went into Checkers Pongola and bought a whole lot of stuff among others two Toy Mobile Phones, one for my son and one for my daughter. Bar Code: 6001001554046. Transaction amount was R352.88 and time was 12:29 on 1 Nov 2013.
When my wife got home my daughter opened the package she found the phone is broken. I do know that one should usually keep the slip but I also know my rights as a consumer and expected at least friendly assistance. I asked my assistant at work to return with the broken phone (twice) only to be told that if we do not have proof of purchase they refuse to assist her. This is in spite of having proof of purchase on my phone for the above time and amount.
This is also not the first time and the inability of the store's keepers to be helpful and assist is absolutely apparent.
I expect a refund, an apology and compensation for my time wasted. I am sick and tired of the attitude of Checkers Pongola and will make sure everyone in Pongola knows this.
Checkers not only sells the cheapest products at the cheapest prices, it seems they have cheap service as well. No thanks, you won't see me again!! I don't care how much more I pay.
