3RD WORLD COMPANY AND CANNOT ISSUE A CREDIT NOTE

My daughter bought a bed, cash, from Beares in Claremont, Cape Town on 11/09/12. Price R2800 and the bed was on special. From Nov she said the bed must have been a reject as the springs are coming through the mattress. My daughter is not fat so no excuses for that. She is a student and returning to Port Elizabeth. Phd them and they dragged their feet endlessly, eventually telling her they will replace the bed with a new one and collect the old damaged one. She is returning to PE on 3 Feb. She asked them for a credit note or at the very least communication with PE branch to give her a new bed here. She doesnt have any other furniture to bring to PE, so how must she get the bed here. I got involved today and calls betw Marius and I and eventually him phg me and telling me that it cannot be done. He added: "She had 7 days from date of purchase to return bed." What kind of statement is that? Who sleeps on a bed for 7 days and the springs come through, unless you 250kg in weight. Bad service, and if this bed was bought on HP, this issue would have been resolved and this is what I have been told by other retail stores. Are we supposed to strap the be to the roof of the car!
