I was purchasing a 1 litre Tab (R12) and the cashier said there was a special on the 2 litre for R10 something. I argued that I had checked the price of a 2l and that it was R15 (majorly overpriced but that's not the point). So I went and swapped it and I saw the special. When I get back to the till the cashier informs me the special is only on Coca Cola. If I wanted a sugary, caffeinated drink I would have gotten a 1l coke then! The cashier did not even offer to fetch my 1 litre for me again. I had to do the "walk of shame" once more! Not only was this process time consuming (I am a student and I have exams to write) but it was also highly embarrassing. This special on only Coke is very prejudiced against diabetics. It was so wrong of this cashier to assume that I am a coke drinker just because I am young. Tab is sugar and caffeine free, just because it tastes like Coke, does NOT mean it is a substitute for it. I'm now embarrassed and VERY annoyed. Also, the supervisor observed the scene from right next to me and did not rectify it. NOT PLEASED.
