I have been a client of Edgars for about 40 years now and I have been so disappointed recently. I was first mislead regarding the payout in the case of my death to my family regarding the Club Membership. When I found out about it, I wanted to cancel my club membership and phoned head office. I asked to speak to a person in my own language (Afrikaans) and was told that it was not possible, that i must speak English to this girl on the phone. She was rude and obnoxious and I was left feeling humiliated. Edgars also used to send me a gift voucher on my birthday, but for the past few years that has not happened. Being an Edgars account holder, I used to frequent the shop very often, but with the bad service I have received in the store, I don't even go there anymore. There is usually no one to help at the Klerksdorp branch and you can hear the staff chatting in the back room. I'd rather just go to Foschini or Truworths from now on. I[m not even sure if it helps complaining, they just don't care.
