I was 1 of many casual workers @ Edgars/uitenhage/e.cape. It was during Xmas period in 2012.All went well wth the then store manager MsHailey. Things changed when Ms Razeena took over. Started working on 5Dec. Understandably my working hrs were'nt consistant. My 1st wages were only paid on 24th. Worked for 36hrs bt only paid for 32hrs. Following wk, was paid for 32hrs evn though I worked for 36hrs. The same thing again on 3rd wk I was paid for 14hrs though worked for 18hrs. Btween 5-7th I worked for 24hrs and was NEVER PAID for tht. In total I was not paid for abt 34hrs which amounts to R599.77-R603.50. Since then to date I hav sent several faxes &e-mail wthout success. It seem managemnt doesnt care. Since his incident I find it very difficult to walk into an Edgars store. Pt has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Am disgusted by their treatment of casual workers. Edgars treats people like a registeres 'SPAZA' shop.@ one stage I received a late unsigned sms detailing my working hrs. I replied to check who sent it & there was no reply. Only when I phned another manager 2 confirm th sms did I realise tht the sms came from 1 arrogant casual worker whose behaviour degrades Edgars' status. Pls help me.
