Online order not fulfilled as out of stock

I placed an order with the Makro online shop on Friday the 6th of September 2013 (order number 1270274),

I received an e-mail on Monday 9 September to say the goods were not in stock at Makro Woodmead and further e-mail correspondence was received yesterday to say that as a result the order would be cancelled and I would be receiving a refund. I would just like to communicate my extreme dissatisfaction at this. As a result of deciding to make use of the online shop, I did not visit a Makro store where I probably would have been able to secure the goods. I have as a result missed out on the special offer, being the only reason I decided to place this order.

I find it incomprehensible that Makro show stock levels on their ordinary website but do not use this functionally on the Makro online shop website. There is no point in showing goods for sale where the order cannot be fulfilled. Its all well and good refunding me however I now have been without the funds for over a week (as the refund takes 2-3 days to clear) and have no compensation in the form of the goods I have ordered.

I would like to know how Makro are going to make this right for a very dissatisfied custome
