Edcon has repeatedly and incorrectly hounded me for late payments to my account, as early as 8.15am on a Sunday morning. I repeatedly confirmed my correct detail as opposed to the account they were after and on 7 August 2013 I even e-mailed a detailed letter to the collection agent giving all of my detail and spelling out that the account payments they were trying the squeeze out of me, weren't mine. To no avail. The hounding continued.
I wrote to Wendy Knowler of Independant Newspapers Consumer Watch on 2 September and true to her word to investigate the issue, Edcon without admitting to any liability has corrected the problem within a week. So they say.
