Yesterday I bought 2 x Nova remote controls and 1 x Hozelock 15m hosepipe.
The remote controls cost R280 each at Builders Express but on investigation I find that everywhere else they sell for R120 each - 133% less than Builders Express.
The hosepipe cost R269 at Builders Express but shopping around I find that it sells for R183 elsewhere - 47% less than Builders Express.
All in all my purchases came to R1109 at Builders Express whereas if I had bought them elsewhere I would have paid R543 - a total saving of over 104%.
How can a huge organisation like this rip the public off to that degree? Talk about DAYLIGHT!
But... worst of all was the attitude of the Manager who told me "thats the way it works sometimes". While I agree that prices can differ by a few rand here and there, I ask with tears in my eyes, can you they really differ by over double?
Builders Express you should be grossly ashamed of yourselves both for your over-pricing as well as your East London managers attitude.
