I recently purchased a new hard drive for my HP Pavilion DV7 laptop. Only to find that the laptop requires a bracket and a cable just to connect the sata drive.
After phoning several times and visiting a store i final got a price for the bracket and adapter clip, which is a piece of bent, thin metal with holes in it and a adapter clip which is just a cable with a plastic clip at each end.
They quoted me R1400 for the two, thats more than what I bought the 250Gb SSD hard drive in the first place.
Online the going rate is R150 to R300. So why must HP charge me this much for a missing part?
