Unethical Business by Susan Harris Estates

We rented a property through Susan Harris Country Estates. After paying the rent, we found out that the same property was rented to someone else.

They agreed to refund the moneys, but charged us an admin fee & bank charges that totaled R400. I noticed that the refund was a cash deposit that cost us a further R71.25 in bank charges.

We were misled by the agent, Cindy Wallace for 22 days. Immediately after viewing the property I promptly started sending all the required documentation through, but the agent kept stalling in giving us a lease agreement. We paid the rent over with a verbal agreement that we can have the keys once the payment is made, but then realized that we were played.

Subsequent to this, we also found out that Susan Harris Country Estates is deregistered and trading unlawfully.
This greatly inconvenienced us because our whole house is packed up in boxes, we started the process to move my son to a new school and we gave notice to our current landlord on the basis of this agreement.
What makes it worse is that we told the agency from the start that the reason we are relocating is due to security concerns and that we were armed robbed at our current place.
