In about March last year I bought a blu-ray player at DionWired. It cost R1099, the bd-s380.
I'm not sure exactly when but on the box it states "Shipped to DionWired 20 Feb 2012".
I simply cannot find the proof of purchase. I bought it on my Game card but it seems that makes no difference if I do not have the slip.
In December it started giving problems with certain blu-rays, soon it said "invalid disk" for all blu-rays.
So I took it to DionWired, in January. Yesterday I got a call to say that Sony quoted R1500 to repair it, according to them it's not under warranty any more.
So I wonder:
Why Sony is not fixing it under warranty
Why it costs more to fix than to buy
Why DionWired just accepts this
I'm very disappointed - to be honest I just expected a lot more from DionWired. I know I do not have the proof of purchase, but surely the other information proves that it is still under warranty, and I'm not trying to deceive anybody?
