Cash Payment Not reflecting

On Monday 8 July I walked into Edgars Tyger Valley and paid the outstanding amount on my Edgars account (As I was doing this for all my accounts) IN CASH.
I received my statement on the account and the R500 I paid did not reflect on the statement. This is almost 2 weeks after I made the payment and offcourse as luck would have it, I don't have the slip anymore.
I went to Edgars and asked them to view the Security Tape of my payment and was told that the security tapes are only available for 2 weeks and therefore they can't view it anymore.
So this means that the money is in Edgars pocket and I owe an additional R500 on the account.

I was told it might have been a system transaction error and that's why it's not reflecting.
So as somebody that works in IT I know that any system has:
A log indicating the access to my card on the Payment Date, an Audit trail of transactions for the day on the terminal of the cashier. DON'T tell me this transaction cannot be traced.
Unless you'd rather from a customer with me doing a double payment than do some investigation.
