I went to pep to buy a phone. I was told to come with proof of address and an I.D. I wanted to know why they have said because there is no simcard that comes out of their stores without RICA. I told them I dont need a simcard I want a phone I have my number and I dont need a new number. Unfortunately they could not sell me a phone because I refused to give them a proof of address. As far as I know RICA was implemented for govt to have information of new simcard due to activities I have my simcard its RICA'd I just wanted a phone. Tarryn told me that they cannot complete a sale without ricaring customers. My question is why are you forcing the customers the simcards if they want just a phone. Within your system or processes I think we need to have exclusions of customers that only want phones not simcard. Did you include simcard price for customers that purchase a phone? That is bad. I'm working at Vodacom and RICA is one of our problems, we receive a huge amount of calls from customers with this RICA information. I believe if stores can drive RICA correctly it will mean less problems for us. Please sort this out. I will email Leon as well your CEO. Thanks
