I purchased a Lanco watch for a friend at Truworths Elements Jabulani Mall for her birthday in April of 2013, I was assisted by one of the sales consultants in store. Upon purchasing the watch I insisted on the watch being sterling silver and the lady assured me that it was, proceeded to paying for it.. A good six if not 700 for that matter.. To my shock hardly even three months its turning bronze.. I went back to the store I'm told " Any watch below 800 is silverplated not sterling silver" How the "F" am I supposed to know this as a client when not told? The watch has a 4 year guarantee but I know that I'll most probably be told that it only covers any mechanical faults and not straps.. I need assistance in terms of getting this sorted as Im not willing to let a friend go around with such a watch. My R20 silver sterling ring that I bought on the street in 2007 is still that "sterling silver", why should a 700 watch not live up to this??
