Less than a month ago I bought a chicken Cesar salad from Pick n Pay Plattekloof. 5 Hours later I found myself in hospital with projectile vomiting and ended spending the night there. All blood results confirmed it was food poisoning and that was the only thing I had consumed that day. The Monday thereafter I reported this to the manager who didn't seem to concerned (almost as if I was wasting his time by bringing this to his attention) so I phoned the costumer care line. The lady was very helpful and took all my details yet I have never heard anything back from Pick n Pay to apologise. Even though I sent through proof of hospital certificates etc and I did pay with my debit card so they could easily have traced my purchase if they were concerned. Needless to say that Monday I stupidly bought a muffin from the same Pick n Pay only to find a piece of plastic in it.
I was never going to make a big scene of this as I know these things can happen but due to the way the staff at Pick n Pay have handled the situation I feel no pity to do so. My family, friends and I will not be supporting Pick n Pay anymore.
