I am an ADT customer of long standing and although I have nothing but praise for their outstanding team in my area the same can NOT be said for their appalling service and their absolutely ridiculous pricing for components. I have an alarm system. I wished to purchase additional remotes which connect to the system by radio. I phoned ADT to get a price on the units and they gave me a price approaching R 1000 plus the cost for a technician to come and program - total for two remotes would have been around R 2 500 - and they tell me that only their techies can push one button while holding another which is patently ridiculous. I told them I will program them myself. You do not need to be a rocket scientist to do this. I confimed that I could collect - twice - with two different people. My wife drove the nearly 60km to get there to be told that they do not supply over the counter After a bit of histrionics they then quoted us the price and told us that they would under no circumstances allow us to program them. I then sourced the remotes from another company for less than half the price and programmed them myself. The system works perfectly. ADT - YOU RIP OFF - SISS!!!
